Wondering what's going on?

Long time no talk. But I'm still around. I am launching my graphic design and illustration business. Which can be viewed at Julius Graphics (click to go to the site).

So what does that mean, and what does it have to do with "The Frozen Prophets"?

Well, actually it has a lot to do with it. I am reverting the story back to it's original format for now. Meaning I will be releasing it in the form of a Novel, prior to releasing it in a Graphic novel or Manga format.

Basically I am just to busy right now to take on the demands of pencilling, inking, lettering, toning, etc. That alone can add up to a full time job. And that is just time that I don't have right now. However, the story will be getting released as a manga sometime in 2012. No specific date is set as of right now. Chapter 1 is going to undergo a re-draw so it will better fit the rest of the art that I have done so far. Chapter 2 is complete, but I will not be releasing it.

Instead of releasing each chapter as I had originally planned, I will be releasing 5 to 6 chapter volumes. And, depending on the demands of my time, I may very well have to seek out another artist to assist me (at least with either the pencils or the inking/toning).

I am submitting my manuscript for the novel form of the story to a few select publishers to see how it will be received. Although I am not anticipating being picked up by a publisher, I just want to get some professional feedback and see what they have to say about it all.

I will probably self publish the book, (which means I will have to do all my own marketing). That's not a bad thing though, because for those of you who enjoy the story, it gives you and I a better chance to connect. I want to keep it personable. The 1 series in what I am anticipating as a 3 part series so far, should be due for release within the next two months. Again, this depends on the constraints of my time.

So, stay tuned, as I will be bringing this blog back to life in about another month. Talk to you guys soon.

I'm still here

Wow, has it been a long time since I've posted! In my absence I have stumbled on to a couple of other Illustration projects that are keeping me pretty busy. I'm doing the artwork for a graphic novel called Quartet Bay, it's a pretty awesome story, and I have roughed out a few pages so far. I'm excited to see this story visually unfold. Also, I'm going to be working on yet another graphic novel, this is based off a movie by independent film maker Brett DeJager. This is going to be an awesome project and I'm super excited to get it started.

The Frozen Prophets is kind of on a hiatus for the time being, however in my absence, I am still working on tweaking the story and constantly working on the character development. The next step in the story will be a complete re-draw of chapter one, following an immediate release of Chapter 2. This probably won't take place for a couple months, but I am really looking forward to working on it again.

There are a couple of other things in planning right now as well, but for now I'm gonna keep that under wraps. I'll start working on posting here more, I've noticed that I have had a lot of traffic recently, and sadly I have had no content for anyone. So, thank you very much for stopping by and know that your support is appreciated. I will be posting some cool pictures and maybe even some more videos as I get going again, in the near future.

Until then guys and girls...Take Care :)

FREE MANGA - Read Issue 1 of The Frozen Prophets

That's right everyone, I have the first issue of The Frozen Prophets right here on the blog for free!

You can read it by clicking here. (Or you can just click read Issue 1 on the navigation bar above).

I will be posting a teaser for Issue 2, I'm thinking the first five pages for now. And also offer pre-orders for a physical copy if you wish to purchase one. I won't take any money up front, I simply want to know how many books to order.

Issue 3 has been outlined in detail, the scripting is all done, and I will be getting started on the rough drafts/layouts in the next week or two. I still have to finish up on Issue 2, I have a few pages left to tone yet. But I wanted to get this first Issue up on the site for people to read.

Also, be on the lookout for some cool character bios coming very soon. I will be doing some "pin-up" art to go alongside the info. It should be pretty cool if it all comes out the way I have it dreamed up in my ever-so cluttered head.

I'm also thinking about doing some video and/or audio updates, let me know what you'd like to see or hear.

So, if you want to see the latest info and stay up to date for chances for free stuff, follow my blog.

You can also catch me on:

Twitter: Chundee99

Facebook: The Frozen Prophets (click the link, head over and like the page, free stuff coming soon on there)

To follow me on here just click the little follow over on the right side of the page, you'll be up to date on everything.

So Here's the Plan for my self publishing

I just want to keep people up to date on my plans. Things have changed a little bit, and as I am still trying the route of self-publishing, I want to offer more ways to get my story into the hands of readers.

What does this mean, you ask?

Well, first off, I am working on getting the first chapter on this very blog to allow readers a free introduction to the story. I am hoping to have it all up and available within the next couple of days. I have actually stopped all work on the manga to get this all sorted out.

Second, I am planning on offering the manga on digital devices. I am currently researching different options and techniques. I have found one that, though I like it, I feel would be to much hassle for potential readers to want to go through, just for a comic they could easily find an alternative with less effort. (That was a mouthfull, so take a quick break....ready).

The other option is to submit it through to Ebook readers or distributors, which I find an excellent option, however, they seem to have a few cons along with their pros. So, more research is needed before I decide on anything.

This feels like a crucial point on the more business side of creating and self-publishing, and I just want to make sure that whatever I do, I am going to be satisfied that first off, the readers have quick and easy access to the story, with great quality and readability. Second, I want to ensure that I have chosen an option that allows me to quickly get the content out there. It takes long enough as it is right now to create the book, non-the-less taking the time to get it into your hands as the readers. You guys are who I aim to impress and keep entertained, and that is why I am trying to choose wisely.

Again, the first chapter will be up and available on this blog very soon, you will be able to read it for free, and it will have a link if you wish to purchase a physical copy. The second chapter will have the first couple pages posted when the entire chapter is finished (currently in the process of toning the last 10 pages).

The books will still be offered in print, but I will also be offering digital downloads of them (for a cheaper price than the print versions).

Thanks for reading all of this if you did, I am very open to your feedback on this matter, so please feel free to discuss and comment below (just click the comment), also, if you want to stay up to date on the goings-on then follow this blog, twitter, become a fan on facebook, and as always, help spread the word, it is all appreciated, Thanks guys.

Hey all...

Wow.. been awhile, to long in fact. I'm still working on everything, the chapter just ended up being longer than I had expected though. Nevertheless, progress is progress.

Gave the blog more of a personal feel

Let me know what you think. I'm not 100% sure I'm liking the background yet. I made a mural of different panels from both chapter 1 and some finished ones from chapter 2. I think it might be to much, but I'll give it a few days and see how I feel later. If you like what you see don't forget to follow me on here. A character bio of Chundee and Malvicious along with a few pictures are going to be coming up within the next two weeks, but my first priority now is to get the rest of chapter 2 toned. I have 20 pages inked, I have about 6 more left to pencil and ink, and then it's done and finished and ready for you to read. So, look for it in about a week and a half.

The Realm of the Forlon

In a land that forgot what it was like to know peace, an era that has no heroes, lies the hardships of making ones way. There are many obstacles that are put in front of us that either deter us from our chosen path, or scare us into leaving our full potential stay dormant. Here is the land where you are on your own, The Realm of the Forlorn.

Character Bio's Coming Soon

I have been struggling with ideas of what to put on this blog to make it a little less boring. I don't do reviews, (although I guess I could from time to time). However, that is not what I really intended this site for. So, after doing some thinking of what I would want to see on here if I were a visitor, I realized I was missing a huge piece of information. Character bio's, and story information.

It's not so much that I will be writing a book about the book, but instead, I will be releasing bits of information about the characters, their backgrounds, and what it is that makes them who they are. Along with that, I want to give some more information about the story without giving the story away. Lastly, I will be adding geographical bio's and artwork.

I feel this would be a good insight into the actual story for readers, instead of just reading what I am doing all the time. So stay tuned, and don't forget to follow this blog by clicking the follow button over towards the top right of the page, then you will be the first to know when something new and interesting comes along.

I hope everyone enjoyed the cover design for chapter 2, I had a lot of fun making it. It took a little while because I typically do not do color work like that. It was not the first time I have done it, but I am by no means a "pro" at it. I was, however, pleased with the end result.

Oh, also, I think I am going to be changing the look of this site a little bit as well. Nothing drastic, but some better quality banners and buttons and such. It's high time I start taking this more serious.

Thanks for reading guys and girls, I'll talk you all soon.

P.S. If you would like to help me get the word out about my story and what's going on here, please share some links on facebook and twitter, tell your friends. I feel I'm ready to start building an audience that I have an ability to keep, so I need to ask those of you who were with me from the start for a little help. Thanks again :).

Chapter 2 Cover -- Here it is

This is the cover for the manga, The Frozen Prophets, an ongoing self-published manga series I am creating. Chapters are being released one at a time, once 5 chapters are finished, I will release a full volume.

I am pleased with the end result. Feel free to comment below this post and let me know what you think. You can follow these blog posts by clicking follow over to the right of the page.

On the cover is Malvicious  (Left) and Chundee (Right), starting their way on an epic journey. Some sneak peaks at chapter 2 are coming soon, so stay tuned. Also, another Inking video is in the works, except this time there will be commentary.

Please, leave me some feedback, I want to know what people think.

Guest Art

Ya ya, I've posted like 500 times on here already today I know :). However, I thought I would add a section on the Art page saved for guest art. I would like to see what everyone has to offer, just email chundeesj@gmail.com and let me know if you got something you want to show off.

An awesome Graphic Novel

You have to see the artwork here, it's amazing. The Wormworld Saga is gonna be a great read, I'm definitely putting it on my list. http://daniellieske.blogspot.com/

Episode 2

I will unvieling the cover for the second installment of The Frozen Prophets in one week. Next Saturday!

Soon you will be able to get your hands on a copy as well, you will find out what happens to Malvicious, and who are these mysterious beings attempting to control the minds of our heroes. A lot of information comes out in this next episode. Not to mention, it looks a lot prettier than the first chapter :).

Well, Have a great rest of the weekend everyone. Time to get back to work.

I was just thinking...

As I was pondering the thoughts of my story, I began realizing I need to give more depth to the "villains."

---That is all.

Yen Press Talent Search

So they have chosen the non-winners (as they say there are none). But it is over. I decided not to enter, but noticed a few searches coming in here related to the subject. A link to the site is Here.

If you entered and were not chosen, you should not have gotten an email, if you entered and were one of the few deemed worthy, then you should have received an email. Pretty simple I suppose.

I hope to see some new manga out there. If you entered and did not win, keep your chin up, if you are determined enough, you will make your dreams come true :).

So, I'm wondering?

I have been wondering what would you guys like to see more of on my site? More how-to? More videos? More artwork? Or (even though I'm camera shy) some video updates instead of having to go through all the trouble of reading?

Leave some comments and let me know, and I will make it happen.

New Image

I have given the story it's very own title with it's very own look. This will now be the "brand" image, and will be on each cover, I will also be putting it on t-shirts, mousepads, and all that good stuff (if anyone ever really really wanted one lol).

All the inked pages are scanned in and ready for toning so far. But I still have a few pages left to ink, then Chapter 2 will be finished.

The "Buy a comic, I donate 100% thing"

Well, it ran for a few days so far, and it totaled $14. Not bad considering only about 10 people really look at this. Thanks to those of you who participated and bought a copy of The Frozen Prophets.

I am going to keep up with the donations. I work, so I don't need the money as bad as some other people do. So.. I am going to run this for a few more weeks. Tell your friends and all that good stuff.

Also, I just had the money from the sales transfered to my paypal, and once it is verified and sent, I will be posting some screenshots of the money being donated, so you all know :).

Have an awesome weekend guys, I'm going to be busy doing some toning of the first half of chapter two. I think it will be ready in about a week to a week and a half. Also, as it draws nearer, I will be posting a picture of the cover. So stay tuned if you wanna see it!

(Oh, and I'm thinking for Chapter 2, I'm going to find a different cause to donate too, I like the idea of helping others when I can), so leave some comments on here with some good ideas of who we could donate to next. =)

Wednesday, March 23, 2011

Keep it up people.

So far ten copies have been sold in the couple days that I have been running this donation special. That's pretty good, but I think we can do better. Remember 100% of all profits are going to the Red Cross for the victims of the Tsunami and Earthquake in Japan.

Each copy only costs $2.75 which really isn't much, but if a lot of people get together, that can really add up! And it's starting to already. Keep it up guys, help spread the word, tell your friends. Thanks again.

I will be posting the cover to Chapter 2 on both the Facebook fan page and here on the blog either tomorrow or Friday. It is all colored, and there I have redesigned the Title, creating a permanent look. I think you guys will be pleased.

Thanks again for all your support, and I know the people in Japan would really appreciate what you have done.

Monday, March 21, 2011

Help!

Hey guys,

I need your help. Well, not me directly, but, I want to do something to help the folks in Japan. So I figured something out (I'm not gonna lie, I wanna sell some books too).

So, what I want to do.

For every copy of The Frozen Prophets that is sold. I will donate 100% of it's profits to the Red Cross. I honestly have only sold two copies so far, but the money is still sitting in the account, so that's the first few dollars right there.

I will keep everyone up to date on a weekly basis letting you know how much has been donated. So tell your friends, tell your wife.

Also Issue 2 is nearing completion, and I am really excited about the new style the stories art has taken on. You will be pleasantly surprised I think. To purchase a copy, just click the purchase your copy at the top of this page.

Thanks guys, Let's show people we give a crap. After all, Japan is all that is Manga!

Here is my first video:

While working on my latest page, I decided to record the process. This first video is of the penciling for the under-drawing. I have finished the inking and will be putting that video together as well, which means you’ll get another sneak peek at an upcoming page.
